Vacuum Tray Dryer

Our vacuum tray dryer is designed to integrate with a sterile barrier isolator for use in production of sensitive peptide products.. The interior is configured to hold 8 shelves, approximately 18″ x 18″ each and is constructed of 316L stainless steel tube to accommodate temperature controlled fluid flow to aid in temperature conditioning the dryer interior. The internal chamber is designed and fabricated per ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements for 25 psi steam sterilization cycle. The dryer facilitates easy and thorough cleaning and decontamination with sloped surfaces and sanitary finishes which meet GMP requirements. The dryer is cleaned by an integral CIP system and sterilized by steam. All of the dryer functions, operations, cleaning, and sterilization are automated and controlled by a central PLC system and run by touch screen operator control station. Various alarms such as SIP temperatures, fluid flows, pressures and rupture disk status are set and monitored from the panel. Temperature probes are provided in the chamber, chamber drain and main filter drain to be used for process control and SIP verification. The strip chart recorder, controlled through PLC, will record chamber pressure, temperature, drain temperature, nitrogen flow, CIP/SIP cycle start/stop, and drying cycle start/stop and will start and stop automatically.

Benefits of Vacuum Drying

Vacuum drying is ideal for materials that would be damaged or changed if exposed to high temperatures. The vacuum removes moisture while preventing the oxidation or explosions that can occur when certain materials combine with air. Vacuum drying is also ideal in situations where a solvent must be recovered or where materials must be dried to very low levels of moisture.

Vacuum Drying Saves Time

Unlike atmospheric drying, drying under reduced pressure lowers the boiling point and provides a greater temperature difference between the heating medium and product. This results in faster drying and more efficient heat recovery.

Vacuum Drying Protects Workers

Since drying occurs in a closed system, hazardous materials and fumes are not released into the air. The potential for explosions is reduced because of the lower temperatures and the lack of dust and air in the dryer.
